WES Community partners Coalition for Truth in Independence (CTI) hosted a rally for access on Saturday, July 22nd, 2017 at the Old Courthouse, Downtown.
The St. Louis Workers’ Education Society joined them.
They gathered to raise awareness and act on issues that inhibit access to employment, supports and services, and the Disabilities community. This year the governor has slashed CDS access for thousands of people with disabilities across the state, reducing access to supports and services, employment, and our community. Locally, decision-makers continue to fail the community with inaccessible pedestrian walk ways, limiting access. Federally, we are on the verge of losing gains made by the ACA, such as no denial or penalties for preexisting conditions, and again limiting access.
We showed that we are willing to fight for these rights! Speakers included: Rev. William Gamblin Julie Salih Representative Cora Faith Walker Dahnyel Walters Alderwoman Megan-Ellyia Green.
Join us for the next rally!
